About 9 months ago Marcello (aka Marsel), a friend of mine, opened a new blog to tell about the journey he was going to start: from Padua (Italy) to North Cape (Norway) by motorbike. He was so exciting to follow him and his friends travelling around Europe, listen about day by day where they were, what they saw and what happened to them. If you are interested, you can still read their blog point to this link: motonord.wordpress.com; all the texts are in Italian, but if you don’t speak it you can anyway enjoy the spectacular pictures they shooted.

March 27th – Arriving in New York City
Going from Chicago to La Guardia Airport in New York City, I flew over Manhattan. Just when I landed, I realized I had been agape for the last part of the flight. It was as I thought it was, as I saw a lot of times on TV and movies… but this time I WAS THERE!
Going to my hotel in Midtown Manhattan by taxi (sharing the ride with a French colleague met at the airport), crossing through the Manhattan Bridge, I saw my first New York Skyline. I was so excited I started text with my cell-phone to share my feelings.
As I arrived to my hotel, on 5th avenue &b 32nd street, I just dropped the baggage off the floor, took my camera and went out. As my hotel was just 1 block by the Empire State Building I felt immediately its presence! It was so…. big and majestic! And I knew it was important to me even before arriving in the city.
Then I moved towards Times Square: I wanted to see it, to experienced it for my first time at night. But was it really night? It seemed to be under daylight!
Everything is shining, in this city! Even the sidewalk shines!
